BREAKING NEWS: Polish Game Distributor States StarCraft 2 Release Date

Polish company Licomp Empik Multimedia (I haven’t heard of them either) are the official distributors of StarCraft 2 in their homeland, and if you look over here on their website, you will notice a release date.

September 30th, 2009.

This is the first time someone other than a retailer has stated a release date for StarCraft 2, and the distributor is a vital part of the gaming food chain. However, that doesn’t make them automatically correct. I would recommend waiting for official confirmation from Blizzard HQ before getting too excited.

The same site lists the following minimum system requirements:
Processor: Dual core 2.3 GHz
RAM: 2GB
Graphics: 512 MB (GeForce 8600)
Operating System: Windows XP/Vista

I think those specs are pure guesswork, and shouldn’t be trusted. All of Blizzard’s games are designed to run on the broadest range of PCs possible, and those specs listed above don’t fit with that philosophy. Dual Core 2.3 GHz minimum? Please…
